‘Character of Service’
Tempo 107.4 FM is for the people of Wetherby and the surrounding villages. Local people are encouraged to contribute to the station’s output; to participate in its organisation; and to help develop the station’s policies. The programme service concentrates on the local area and programming reflects the community’s needs, tastes and aspirations.
The studio is located within the licenced coverage area.
The service provides a range of community benefits (social gain objectives mandated by statute) for the target community, both on-air and off-air, and in doing so, achieves the following objectives:
- the facilitation of discussion and expression of opinion,
- the provision (whether by means of programming included in the service or otherwise) of education or training to individuals not employed by the person providing the service, and
- the better understanding of the particular community and the strengthening of links within it.
Members of the target community contribute to the operation and management of the service. The service has mechanisms in place to ensure it is accountable to its target community.

Review of Compliance:
The Trustees of Tempo 107.4 FM meet on a regular basis to discuss and ensure compliance with their Key Commitments. At their last meeting on 28th October 2025 the following areas were reviewed and updated:
- Character of Service Commitments:
a) The number of active local people contributing directly to the station output increased to 39
b) A new co-worker assisted blind presenter Jamie Lynas on his Monday show
c) A net addition of 1 hour per week was added to our locally produced programming - Social Gain objectives on-air:
a) A total of 26 guests in the studio contributed to local programming
b) Live reporting took place at 3 local events
c) A total of 12 new local event trailers were produced and broadcast - Social Gain objectives off-air:
a) Training continued with weekly young person training
b) The station is now working with the Wetherby Methodist church regarding their community events
